Marathon

Anita Friend, Claire Abbey, Graeme Abbey, Helen Harper, Ian Wilkinson, Paul Abbey, Sarah Wills and Tom Guglielmi ran the 26.2 miles for the London Marathon this year.

Their efforts allow us to reach and support more people living with acquired hearing loss.

There’s plenty of time to train for the 2011 London Marathon – so let us know if you plan to run for us next year!

Sarah Smith (Hearing Concern Link staff) is hoping to complete the Annual 1066 walk this year. She will be walking 15 miles on 13 June (next Sunday) to try to raise some money for HCL! If you’d like to sponsor her please either click on the following link to visit the JustGiving page
or use the traditional sponsor form which will be at Hartfield Road. If you have suggestions of excellent (rich and generous) Please let us know!

A team from DHL are going to complete a sponsored 100km cycle around Sussex finishing off with the climb up Ditchling Beacon which rises from 90 metres above sea level to the summit at 248 metres in just over 1.6 kilometres.

On 22nd May 2010 Linda Sharkey (Hearing Concern LINK) and Mandy Reid (SCoD) took part in a sponsored 10k walk - where Linda wore ear defenders and a blindfold to become 'DeafBlind' and Mandy acted as her 'Guide'. Funds raised will support Hearing Concern LINK, for adults with Acquired Hearing Loss.
